Hall of Fame
The Funkes have been fixtures at nearly every Quincy University home athletic event for the past two decades. They have served the university in a variety of roles, particularly within the Mart Heinen Athletic Booster Club. John Funke is a past president of the Mart Heinen Club and his wife, Vivian, is the longtime secretary of the club. John was also the longtime chair of the Mart Heinen Club’s golf tournament. The Funkes were directly responsible for the construction of the new concession stand at QU-Stadium and have served at various fund-raisers and banquets through the years. They have been an integral part of the club’s ability to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Quincy University athletics.
