Weiss was one of the top goal keepers in the early days of Quincy College soccer. He was also a major contributor to three NAIA national championship teams in 1971, 1973 and 1974 and a third-place finish in 1972. Weiss was the starting keeper on two of those national title teams. In his senior season of 1974, Weiss was the Hawks’ most valuable player, an All-Midwest performer and a selection to the NAIA All-District 20 team. He also played in the Senior Bowl that year and was later a draft choice of the North American Soccer League’s Dallas Tornado.
