Hawks Roll Past Missouri Baptist with Dominant 47–1 Victory in Home Opener

QUINCY, Ill. – The No. 16-ranked Quincy University women's wrestling team opened its home slate in dominant fashion on Tuesday night, rolling past Missouri Baptist University 47–1 inside Pepsi Arena. In front of a loud and energetic home crowd, the Hawks controlled the dual from start to finish, earning six wins by fall, one technical fall, and one decision, while also receiving three wins by forfeit due to Missouri Baptist not filling those weight classes.

The Hawks wasted no time jumping ahead as Abigail Mendoza (103 lbs) earned a forfeit victory to open the dual. Trinity Pendergrass (110 lbs) then fired up the home crowd with a pin in just 1:19, followed by sophomore Alexandra Tchekounova (117 lbs) securing a 10–0 technical fall in 1:21. Sereena Baca (124 lbs) kept the momentum rolling with a first-period pin in 1:45, marking her 60th career individual victory.

Kaleigh Allender (131 lbs) picked up another win by forfeit before Julia Chambers (138 lbs) made her mark in her first dual appearance as a Hawk, earning her first career victory in a QU uniform with a pin in just 1:01. Dempsey Atkinson (145 lbs) continued the string of dominant finishes, recording a fall in 2:32, while Lillian Baynes (160 lbs) wasted little time, pinning her opponent in 1:21.

The upper weights saw continued success, as Madisynn Crawford (180 lbs) earned a fall in 2:21, and Trinity White (207 lbs) battled her way to a 4–3 decision win, closing out the dual in front of an energetic home crowd.

The Hawks' well-balanced attack, featuring both experienced leaders and dynamic newcomers, set the tone for what promises to be another successful season for Quincy.

The Hawks will return to the mat on Saturday, November 8th, when they travel to Ottawa, Kansas, to compete in the Ottawa Open.
