Biography

2025-26 (Freshman): Baynes made an immediate impact in her first season with the Hawks, finishing with a 25-18 overall record and a .581 win percentage. She became a regular in dual action, going 6-7 overall and 2-3 in conference duals, while scoring 28 dual points for Quincy.

Baynes was especially effective in bonus-point victories, recording 17 falls, seven tech falls, and one decision victory. She made her collegiate debut at the Luther Hill Open (11/1/25), where she went 3-1 and earned a second-place finish after winning her first three collegiate matches by fall.

Baynes added two more podium finishes with sixth-place finishes at the North Central College Open (12/14/25) and Missouri Baptist Open (1/16/26). She closed her tournament season with the first title of her collegiate career at the Grand View Open (2/7/26), going 5-0 with five falls in the Silver 160 division.

Personal: Baynes is from Cypress, Texas, where she attended Cypress Woods High School and competed for the Wildcats. She is the daughter of Brad Baynes and Emily Southern and has two siblings, Ellie and Brett. In the classroom, Baynes was on the A/B Honor Roll all four years and was recognized as Wildcat of the Month.

On the mat, Baynes put together an impressive high school career, finishing with more than 130 varsity wins. She was a three-time state qualifier, three-time regional qualifier, and four-year varsity letterwinner. Baynes also earned several honors, including Most Outstanding Heavyweight Wrestler in the Region, Girls Team MVP, and Most Coachable, while also serving as a two-time team captain. She was also a member of the Student Athletic Leadership Team.

Away from competition, Baynes enjoys binge-watching Netflix and spending time with her younger sister. Her favorite athletes are Spencer Lee and Kennedy Blades, and she is a fan of Texas A&M football and the Houston Texans. She also volunteers each summer as a youth wrestling coach and helps at her church in the nursery.
