Quincy University Hawks

Personal: Lillian Baynes hails from Cypress, Texas, where she attended Cypress Woods High School and competed for the Wildcats. She is the daughter of Brad Baynes and Emily Southern and has two siblings, Ellie and Brett. Academically, she was on the A/B honor roll all four years and was recognized as Wildcat of the Month during her time in high school.

Lillian built an impressive wrestling career, becoming a 3x state qualifier, 3x regional qualifier, and a 4-year varsity letterwinner. She earned accolades, including Most Outstanding Heavyweight Wrestler in the Region, Girls Team MVP, Most Coachable, and served as a two-time team captain. She also represented her school on the Student Athletic Leadership Team and finished her career with 130+ varsity wins.

Away from competition, Lillian enjoys binge-watching Netflix and spending time with her younger sister. She looks up to Spencer Lee and Kennedy Blades, and supports Texas A&M football and the Houston Texans. She also volunteers each summer as a youth wrestling coach and helps at her church in the nursery.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I needed a change from home, and Quincy was the perfect campus and student size for me. They have the major I need, and the atmosphere here when I came on my visit was like something I hadn’t experienced before. It was over a break, and yet everyone was still out and about on campus.
