Biography
Personal: Dempsey Atkinson is from Rochelle, Illinois, where she attended Rochelle Township High School. She is the daughter of Andrew and Tressa Atkinson and has one sibling, Chase. A standout multi-sport athlete, Atkinson made history as the first female wrestler in school history to qualify for and medal at state. She is a three-time IHSA State Qualifier, a two-time State Medalist, and a two-time Conference Champion. She also holds the school records for most state pins in a season (4) and most career state pins (6). In addition to wrestling, Atkinson excelled in volleyball—earning two All-Conference honors and being named the 2024 MVP—and in track and field as a 2025 Indoor State Qualifier. She accumulated 12 varsity letters during her high school career and was a six-time Academic All-Conference honoree. Atkinson also competed nationally as a three-time Team Illinois Fargo member. Outside of athletics, she enjoys thrifting, playing sand volleyball, listening to music, and working on crafts. She is a fan of the Chicago White Sox.
