INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its women's golf preseason coaches poll Tuesday afternoon, with Quincy selected to finish ninth among 13 teams with 56 points.
Defending league champion Indianapolis was tabbed as the preseason favorite after capturing its 17th GLVC Championship last season, totaling 139 points and 10 first-place votes. Missouri–St. Louis followed closely behind with 135 points and three first-place votes. Lewis, McKendree, and Illinois Springfield rounded out the top five.
The Hawks enter their first season under head coach
Jon Roberson, looking to build momentum following a fall campaign that featured competition in four tournaments.
Quincy returns a strong core of experience, led by senior
Lily Vardaman, who has already recorded multiple top-10 finishes this season. A veteran junior class of
Ellissa Warren,
Laci Novosel,
Payton Miller, and
Addi Eades also returns after gaining valuable collegiate experience over the past several years.
Quincy opens its spring schedule March 11–12 at the Las Vegas Warrior Invitational at Legacy Golf Club, a key early test as the Hawks prepare for postseason play and the GLVC Championship.
