LEMONT, Ill. — The Quincy University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Dan Salisbury Memorial this weekend at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club, finishing sixth out of nine teams with a three-round team total of 986 (+122). The Hawks carded rounds of 335, 325, and 326 over the two-day event.
Lily Vardaman paced Quincy with a strong showing, highlighted by a stellar second-round 73 that included four birdies and ten pars. Coupled with opening and closing rounds of 81 and 80, Vardaman finished at 234 (+18) to earn a seventh-place individual finish.
Addi Eades tied for the Hawks' low round in the opener with an 81, then added scores of 83 and 80 to finish tied for 18th place at 244 (+28).
Laci Novosel improved each day, posting 85-84-82 to place tied for 27th at 251 (+35).
Payton Miller rebounded from an opening 92 with rounds of 85 and 84 to place tied for 36th at 261 (+45), while
Ellissa Warren stayed consistent with back-to-back 88s before closing with an 86, tying for 38th at 262 (+46).
Quincy's sixth-place team finish placed them just three strokes behind Purdue Northwest (983) and within striking distance of William Jewell (980). Lewis University captured the team title with a 913 (+49).
The Hawks will return to action on October 20–21, closing out their fall schedule at the Bearcat Dual Gender, hosted by McKendree University at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois.
