ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Quincy University women's golf team wrapped up its regular season at the UMSL Spring Invitational held at Norwood Hills Country Club, finishing 13th in a strong 17-team field.
Lily Vardaman paced the Hawks with a three-round total of 234 (+21), tying for 34th overall. Vardaman opened with rounds of 82 and 79 before closing the tournament with an impressive 73, the lowest round by a Hawk during the event. She totaled five birdies and 28 pars across the tournament, including a 36 on the back nine in round two and a balanced 36-37=73 in the final round.
Addi Eades followed with a three-round score of 243 (+30), finishing tied for 49th. Eades opened with an 80 after carding a 39 on the back nine, then followed with rounds of 81 and 82. She highlighted the final round with a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole.
Kiley Torres rounded out Quincy's top three finishers, placing tied for 67th with a total score of 253 (+40). Torres improved each round, shooting an 87 in round one, an 84 in round two, and an 82 in the final round.
Laci Novosel finished with rounds of 83, 85, and 91 to finish with a three-round total of 259 (+46), placing 74th overall. Her scores counted toward the Hawks' team total as Quincy posted rounds of 332, 329, and 325 for a tournament total of 986 (+134).
Payton Miller rounded out the Hawks lineup with rounds of 88, 88, and 88 to finish with a total score of 264 (+51), placing 80th overall.
The Hawks will now turn their attention to postseason play when they travel to Peru, Indiana for the GLVC Championships, scheduled for April 17-19 at Rock Hollow Golf Club.
