Three Champions, 12 Placers Highlight Hawks Strong Showing at Luther Hill Invitational

Indianola, Iowa. - The Quincy University men's wrestling team had a strong showing at the Luther Hill Invitational to kick off the season. The Hawks had 12 placers in the tournament including three champions in their respective weight classes.

The first champion, Lucas Clement, dominated the Open 149 division, claiming the title with a decisive 17-11 victory over Camden Baarda from Grand View. At Open 184, Callan Ivy showcased his prowess by taking the championship title, sealing it with a 7-1 decision win over Hunter Weimer of Concordia. The final champion, Logan Colbert excelled in the Open 197 class, securing first place with a major decision in the finals against Teegan Tschampel of Concordia.

Other top QU finishers in the tournament include Isaac Bourge (2nd in Open 133), Sabian Russell (2nd in Open 141), Caleb Groff (3rd in Open 285) and Jackson Jones ( 3rd in Fresh/Soph 165). Additionally, Humberto Pintor (4th in Open 149), Bryor Newbold (4th in Fresh/Soph 165), Carter Silva (5th in Open 157), Brian Farley (5th in Fresh/Soph 125) and Easton Norris (6th in Open 157) made podium finishes for the Hawks.

The Hawks are back in action next week, heading to Atchison, Kansas for the Benedictine Duals and Benedictine Open on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 8 & 9), respectively.
