The Hawks were limited to just four total hits across the two contests as Rockhurst used early offense in both games to secure the sweep.
Game 1: Rockhurst 13, Quincy 2 (5 innings)
Rockhurst wasted no time getting on the board in the opening inning. After a walk and a single put two runners aboard, a hit by pitch forced in the first run of the game before a grand slam gave the visitors a quick 5-0 advantage.
The Hawks answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Casey Fronheiser was hit by a pitch and
Haleigh Winter followed with a single for her first career multi-hit game. After
Kenzie Moss reached on an error to load the bases,
Kaidence Dumas doubled to center field to bring home Fronheiser and Winter and cut the deficit to 5-2.
Rockhurst added three more runs in the second inning on an RBI double and a two-run homer to extend the lead to 8-2. Quincy was unable to answer as the Hawks were held scoreless in the second and third innings.
The visitors pushed the lead to 11-2 in the fourth inning with a solo home run, an unearned run after an error, and an RBI double. Rockhurst added two more in the fifth on another solo homer and a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring.
Winter went 1-for-1 with a run scored in game one, while Dumas accounted for both Quincy runs with her two-run double and Fronheiser also scored in the loss. Uhles provided 3.1 innings of relief after entering in the second inning.
Game 2: Rockhurst 8, Quincy 0 (6 innings)
