Biography

2026 (Sophomore): Freeman made 25 appearances in the circle during her sophomore season, including 10 starts. She threw 66.0 innings, recorded two complete games, and struck out 40 batters. Freeman earned the first win of her collegiate career against Upper Iowa (3/21/26), throwing 6.2 innings in a 12-10 victory. At the plate, Freeman saw limited action, recording one hit in 14 at-bats with one run scored.

2025 (Freshman): Freeman appeared in 35 games and made 31 starts during her first season with the Hawks, while also making nine appearances in the circle. At the plate, she hit .232 with two doubles, one triple, three home runs, 13 RBIs, and 12 runs scored.

Freeman recorded her first collegiate hit with an RBI single against Tiffin (2/23/25), the same game she launched her first career home run. In the circle, she threw 17.2 innings and made her collegiate pitching debut against Winona State (2/17/25), tossing 2.1 innings and recording one strikeout.

Personal: Alexus Freeman is a native of St. James, Missouri, and a graduate of St. James High School. She is the daughter of Laurie and Landon Freeman and has one brother, Hunter. Freeman was a standout both athletically and academically, earning four Academic All-Conference selections and four All-State Academic honors.

On the softball field, Freeman was a four-time First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference selection, a four-time All-Area honoree, and earned All-Region recognition multiple times. In 2023, she was named the Four Rivers Conference Player of the Year, becoming the only St. James softball player to receive the honor. She also tied the single-season home run record with seven while setting multiple pitching records, including the single-season strikeout record twice and the career strikeout record with 511.

Freeman also competed in track and field, qualifying for sectionals and the state championship in javelin in 2024. Outside of athletics, she was heavily involved in FFA, qualifying for state in several events and earning her State Degree. She enjoys photography, farm life, crocheting, and working out. Her favorite athletes are George Kittle, Brock Purdy, and Skylar Wallace, and she is a fan of the San Francisco 49ers along with Florida, Missouri, and Kansas softball.
