Quincy University Hawks

2025 (Freshman): In her first season with the Hawks, Dumas made 21 appearances on the mound, which included 11 starts, where she had an 8.89 ERA through 63 innings pitched. She struck out 27 batters and tossed one complete game. Kaidence also saw a few plate appearances as she went 1-12 with a run scored. She made her first appearance on the mound against Parkside (2/14/25), where she threw five innings and punched out three batters. In her second-ever collegiate appearance on the mound, Dumas tossed a complete game against Southwest Minnesota (2/16/25), where she threw six innings, gave up one earned run, and struck out two. She earned her first collegiate hit with a single against Tiffin (2/23/25).

Personal: Dumas hails from Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from Westside High School, where she made a name for herself in softball. Coming from a strong athletic background, her father, Patrick Dumas, played football and baseball at Dana College, while her mother, Heather Dumas, played volleyball at Midland University. Kaidence carried on the family tradition of excellence, earning Academic All-State honors while making a significant impact on the field. She helped lead her team to the state softball tournament, broke her high school’s home run record, and earned an invitation to the All-Star Game.

Outside of sports, Kaidence enjoys swimming, boating, working out, and exploring her passion for sewing and fashion. She looks up to softball star Jocelyn Alo and is a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I liked the softball coaches so much, and they made me feel welcome. I also enjoyed the size of the campus and where it is located.
