2026 (Sophomore): Van Erem made three appearances in the circle during her sophomore season, throwing 1.1 innings. She finished the year with two strikeouts while posting a 10.50 ERA and a 4.50 WHIP.

2025 (Freshman): Van Erem appeared in two games in the circle during her first season with the Hawks. She made her collegiate debut against Parkside (2/14/25), throwing one inning and recording her first career strikeout.

Personal: Jersey Van Erem is a native of Waterloo, Iowa, and a graduate of Waterloo West High School. She comes from a strong athletic family, as her mother, Jamie, played volleyball and basketball at Upper Iowa University and is a member of the UIU Athletic Hall of Fame, while her father, Ryan, played football at Upper Iowa.

Van Erem put together a decorated high school career, earning Marine Corps Female Athlete of the Year honors and serving as a team captain. She was named Most Improved Player in 2020, 2023, and 2024, earned Mississippi Valley All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2024, and was selected to the All-Metro Team that same season. She also helped lead Waterloo West to back-to-back Metro Championships in 2023 and 2024.

In 2024, Van Erem ranked among the top five pitchers in the conference in ERA, opponent batting average, and strikeouts. Off the field, she earned Academic All-Conference honors in 2023 and 2024, was a member of the National Honor Society, served as a Link Crew Member, and received the Mayor’s Top Teen Volunteer Award. Outside of softball, she enjoys working out, fishing, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, journaling, and volunteering. Her favorite athlete is Serena Williams, and she is a fan of the Chicago Cubs.
