EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Quincy University men's swimming program was represented by two competitors at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving National Championships held at the Deaconess Aquatic Center from March 10–14.
Wyatt Walsh and
Haniel Kudwoli each earned All-America honors after advancing to consolation finals in their respective events, highlighting a strong showing for the Hawks on the national stage.
Walsh capped off an outstanding Quincy career with his second consecutive All-America honor, competing in four individual events across the five-day championship. His top performance came in the 400-yard individual medley, where he finished 13th in the preliminaries with a time of 3:51.75 to secure a spot in the consolation final. In the evening session, Walsh delivered an even stronger swim, touching the wall in 3:49.43 to place second in the consolation heat and 10th overall in the nation, earning Second Team All-America honors.
Walsh also competed in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing 31st out of 34 swimmers in the preliminaries with a time of 1:49.54. He later raced in the 100-yard freestyle, placing 48th out of 51 swimmers with a mark of 45.38. Walsh concluded his national championship meet in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 4:26.84 to finish 17th out of 34 competitors.
Kudwoli represented the Hawks in the 100-yard breaststroke and joined Walsh in earning All-America honors. He swam a strong preliminary race, finishing 15th out of 27 swimmers with a time of 54.33 to advance to the consolation finals. In the evening final, Kudwoli clocked a time of 54.46, finishing eighth in the consolation heat and 16th overall in the event to secure Second Team All-America status.
The performances from Walsh and Kudwoli wrap up another successful season for the Quincy University swimming program, as both the men's and women's teams continued to make significant strides throughout the year while once again earning national recognition at the NCAA Championships.
