HENDERSON, Nev. – The Quincy University men's golf team opened the 2026 spring season at the Warrior Vegas Invitational at The Legacy Golf Club, placing fourth overall behind a strong showing from
David Gartrell.
Quincy entered two teams in the tournament, with the Hawks' Team A finishing fourth after posting rounds of 298-306-290—894 (+30). Quincy's Team B finished eighth, carding rounds of 312-321-308—941 (+77).
Team A
David Gartrell paced the Hawks with an outstanding performance, finishing third overall at 2-under par. Gartrell recorded rounds of 69, 72, and 73 for a three-round total of 214 (-2). He tallied 14 birdies and 29 pars across the tournament to anchor Quincy's top team.
Griffin Taylor added another strong finish for the Hawks, tying for 19th overall at +10 with rounds of 75, 77, and 74 for a 226 total.
Jack Driscoll turned in one of the best rounds of the tournament for Quincy on the final day, firing an even-par 72 to close the event. Driscoll finished 29th overall with rounds of 81, 79, and 72 for a total of 232 (+16).
Glenn Sutton rounded out the Hawks' primary lineup with a tie for 31st place, posting rounds of 79, 78, and 77 for a 234 (+18). Sutton recorded nine birdies and 24 pars during the event.
Blake Arnold also competed for Quincy A, posting rounds of 75 and 71.
Team B
Quincy's second squad was led by
Colby Robertson, who finished 13th overall at +6 with rounds of 73, 73, and 76 for a total of 222. Robertson recorded six birdies and 33 pars, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole.
Brayden Buffington also turned in a strong showing, tying for 19th overall after posting rounds of 75, 78, and 73 for a three-round total of 226 (+10).
Matthew Boudreau finished 49th overall, recording rounds of 85, 84, and 84 for a total of 253 (+37).
Colton Barr tied for 37th place after carding rounds of 79, 86, and 75 for a total of 240 (+24), while
Michael Martelli placed 50th with rounds of 85, 86, and 84 for a 255 (+39).
Individuals
Konnor Craven competed as an individual and tied for 42nd overall with rounds of 82, 79, and 82 for a total of 243 (+27).
Sam Cory also competed individually, finishing 57th after posting rounds of 93, 96, and 88 for a total of 277 (+61).
The Hawks will continue their spring season March 23–24 when they compete at the UIS Invitational in Decatur, Illinois, hosted at Red Tail Run Golf Course.
