BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – The Quincy University men's golf team opened play at the Flyers' Spring Invitational with a two-round total of 303-152=455, finishing seventh out of 13 teams at Bolingbrook Golf Club. The tournament was shortened to 27 holes due to weather conditions.

Blake Arnold paced the Hawks, opening with a 75 (+3). After carding a 37 on the front nine, he battled through the back with a 38. Arnold followed with another 38 in round two, recording seven pars to finish with a tournament total of 113 (+5), good for a tie for 17th.

Colby Robertson followed closely with a composed 74 (+2), highlighted by four birdies. He carded a 35 on the front nine and a 39 on the back before adding a 40 in the final round. Robertson highlighted day two with a birdie on the 154-yard par-3 fourth hole to finish with a total of 114 (+6), tying for 25th.

Griffin Taylor also finished tied for 25th after posting a 76 (+4) in the opening round with matching nines of 38. Taylor responded with another 38 in round two, highlighted by a birdie on the 600-yard par-5 fifth hole, finishing with a total score of 114 (+6).

Brayden Buffington recorded a 79 (+7) in the opening round before improving with a 37 in round two. Buffington highlighted his second day with birdies on holes 13 and 16 to finish with a tournament total of 116 (+8), good for a tie for 37th.

David Gartrell rounded out the Hawks lineup with a 78 (+6) in the first round, including a 37 on the front nine. He added a 39 in round two while tallying six pars to finish with a total of 117 (+9), placing tied for 44th.

The Hawks will look to carry momentum into the final tournament of the season when they travel to Waterloo, Iowa for the Upper Iowa Invitational on April 3-4 at Sunnyside Golf & Country Club.
