WATERLOO, Iowa - Battling through cold and wet conditions, the Quincy University men's golf team captured its second tournament title of the season at the Upper Iowa Invitational held at Sunnyside Golf & Country Club.
Originally scheduled for April 3-4, the tournament was shortened to one round after weather canceled day one. Playing on the par-72, 6,756-yard course, the Hawks finished with a team score of 312 (+24) to place first out of 12 teams, edging Augustana (SD) by two strokes.
Colby Robertson and Blake Arnold led the way for Quincy, with both golfers tying for third place overall after carding rounds of 76 (+4).
Robertson totaled two birdies and 11 pars during his round, while Arnold finished with three birdies and 12 pars to match Robertson atop the Quincy leaderboard.
Jack Driscoll also turned in a strong performance, placing sixth overall with a 78 (+6). Driscoll recorded one birdie and 10 pars during his round.
David Gartrell finished 30th overall with an 82 (+10), highlighted by two birdies, while Griffin Taylor rounded out the Hawks lineup in 48th place after shooting an 85 (+13) with one birdie and six pars.
The Hawks will now turn their attention to postseason play at the GLVC Championship, set for April 22-24 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
