ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Quincy women's wrestling team traveled to Missouri Baptist to compete in the Missouri Baptist Open, a 10-team field that featured strong regional competition. The Hawks turned in an impressive showing, totaling seven podium finishes and one individual champion.
Leading the way was
Sereena Baca at 117 pounds, who captured first place with a perfect 3-0 record, earning two technical falls on her way to the title.
Quincy also collected two runner-up finishes.
Alexandra Tchekounova placed second at 110 pounds after going 2-1 with a technical fall and a fall, while
Maddy Barton finished second at 131 pounds with a 4-1 record, securing all four victories by fall.
Additional podium performances came from
Abigail Mendoza, who placed third at 103 pounds with a 3-1 record that included a technical fall and a fall.
Siobhan Rogers finished fourth at 145 pounds after going 3-2 with two falls and a technical fall. At 180 pounds,
Trinity White placed fifth with a 2-2 record and a fall, while
Lillian Baynes added a sixth-place finish at 160 pounds after competing in seven matches and posting four wins.
