DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Hawks looked to get one back in the middle game of the series against North Georgia after dropping the season opener yesterday. NGU got the better of Quincy one more, dealing the Hawks a 7-4 loss in game two.
Quincy got on the board in the top of the first on a long ball by
Dustin Dupont to move ahead early before UNG used a sac-fly and a grounder to take the lead right back 2-1 after the first inning. Conner Simons legged out an infield single to pick up an RBI and score
David Broughton and even the score once more.
The Nighthawks responded with another run in the bottom of the second to lead it against 3-2, adding a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth to move ahead 6-2.
Broughton took one for a ride down the line in left along with an RBI ground-out for Simons to narrow the margin to 6-4 in the seventh. UNG found the scoreboard once more for a single run in the bottom of the seven to conclude the scoring and give the Nighthawks a 7-4 win.
