Canton, Mo. – The Quincy University track and field program hopped over the river to compete at the Wildcat Invite on Saturday (Apr. 22) where both teams finished in 9
th place.
Faith Haggard shined in Canton, breaking the school record for long jump at 5.31 meters. She was the individual champion for both long jump and the 100-meter hurdles, posting a 15.65 time in the latter event. The Gary, Indiana, native finished 7
th in the 200-meter dash with a 27.64 time.
The distance group for the ladies saw three personal best times. Brianna Obermaier finished her 800-meter run in 9
th place at 3:16.99.
Finley Petty and Obermaier competed in the 1500-meter run, finishing in 17
th and 18
th respectively. Petty posted a time of 6:11.45 and Obermaier posted a time of 6:27.76.
Jaret Boehm continued success for the Hawks throwing with a second place finish in shot put at 14.58 meters and a third place finish in discus throw at 44.33 meters. He rounded out his day with a personal best in hammer throw at 42.47 meters, finishing in 8
th place.
David Gamble finished his 200-meter dash in 23.69 seconds, landing a spot in 6
th place . His long jump of 5.31 meters put him in 12
th place for the meet.
Nile Mclymont finished in 10
th place with 59 flat finish in the 400-meter dash.
Austin Haskins posted two personal bests in the 800-meter dash at 2:20.50 and in the 1500-meter at 4:48.10.
The Hawks will travel to Bourbonnais, Illinois, next Saturday (Apr. 29) for the ONU Outdoor Open.
