BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Hawks kicked off their 2022-23 campaign under first-year head coach
Chris Aschemann at the Titan First Chance Open hosted by Illinois Weselyan University on Saturday, December 10
th.
The men placed 6
th with 31 points, while the women placed 7
th with 13 points.
Chadwick Stewart led the Hawks claiming first place in the 200 meter in 22.75 seconds. That time also currently sits in 3
rd in the GLVC. He also claimed 5
th in the 60 meter dash in 6.95 seconds, which is also 3
rd in the GLVC.
Thiea Shea claimed 6
th in the 300 meter race with a time of 36.92 seconds. Rounding out the top performers in the races was
Finley Petty who ran the 3,000 meter race in 13:37.03 to place 6
th. That currently sits in the top 5 for the conference.
In the field events,
Paden Lewis was near the top of the leaderboard once again. He placed 2
nd in the shot put and weight throw with throws of 15.93 meters and 17.29 meters, respectively.
Jaret Boehm was also a top 5 finisher in the shot put at 13.50 meters.
The Hawks had two place in the top 5 in the long jump.
Faith Haggard claimed 2
nd spot with a jump of 5.07 meters, while
Taryn Sargent placed 4
th with a jump of 4.97 meters.
