Hawks Swept by No. 17 McKendree to Conclude 2026 Season

LEBANON, Ill. – Quincy wrapped up the 2026 season on Sunday, falling in both games of a doubleheader to No. 17 McKendree, dropping game one 10-0 before an 11-0 loss in game two.

Game 1: #17 McKendree 10, Quincy 0 (5 Innings)

In game one, the Bearcats struck early and often, scoring two runs in the first inning before a three-run second and a four-run third inning broke the game open. McKendree tallied 11 hits in the contest, including a pair of home runs, while Quincy was held hitless as the game ended after five innings.

The Hawks had a brief opportunity in the opening frame, reaching on back-to-back errors and putting two runners in scoring position, but were unable to capitalize. McKendree took advantage of its chances throughout, building a 10-0 lead and holding Quincy scoreless to complete the shutout.

Game 2: #17 McKendree 11, Quincy 0 (5 Innings)

Game two followed a similar script, as McKendree again jumped out early with a four-run first inning. The Bearcats added one in the second before erupting for six runs in the third to extend the lead to 11-0.

Quincy managed just one hit in the second game, a single from Samantha Farrell, while the Bearcats finished with 11 hits and drew nine walks to keep constant pressure on the Hawks' pitching staff.

The Hawks utilized multiple pitchers in game two, working through traffic early before settling in over the final innings, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.

Quincy concludes the 2026 season after competing against one of the top teams in the region, as the Hawks now turn their focus to building for the future.
