INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Hawks battled through a loaded field of competition on Sunday at the Greyhound Open. Quincy had several strong individual performances throughout the day, highlighted by a podium finish from
Donnell Packer.
Packer highlighted the day for the Hawks with a fourth-place finish at 197 pounds. Packer went 3-2 overall, earning two major decisions by scores of 12-3 and 14-4, along with a 4-2 decision, to secure the lone podium finish for QU.
Additional notable performances included
Judah Yates at 197 pounds, who went 2-2 with two technical fall victories, and
Josiah Oliver-Ross at 165 pounds, who also finished 2-2 with a decision and a fall.
Cody Ruiz picked up a win at heavyweight with a fall in 1:29, while
Dalton Schell recorded a 2-1 decision victory at 174 pounds.
The Hawks will now shift their focus to postseason action as Quincy prepares to host the GLVC Championship inside Pepsi Arena on Sunday, February 15.
