INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Hawks battled through a challenging slate at the Greyhound Duals on Saturday, facing two top-10 programs in Glenville State and Grand Valley State, while earning a hard-fought 27-12 victory over Thomas More.
Quincy opened the day against No. 9 Glenville State, falling 29-9 in a dual that featured several close bouts throughout the lineup.
Jackson Jones (165) picked up a 5-1 decision over Roman Onorato, while
Judah Yates (197) delivered a highlight performance with a pin at 2:47 to put points on the board for the Hawks.
The Hawks bounced back in the second dual of the day with a strong team effort against Thomas More, securing a 27-12 victory. Quincy won seven of the ten bouts, highlighted by falls from
Isaiah Nichols (157) and technical falls from
Callan Ivy (184) and
Sabian Russell (149). Yates added a major decision at 197, while
Te'Andre Allen (133),
Dimitri Bao-Washington (141), and
Dalton Schell (174) each contributed key decisions to seal the win.
In the final dual, Quincy faced No. 4 Grand Valley State, dropping a 42-5 decision against one of the nation's top programs. Russell provided the lone team points with an impressive technical fall at 149, while several Hawks battled ranked opponents throughout the dual.
Quincy will remain in Indianapolis and return to action on Sunday morning at the Greyhound Open, with competition set to begin at 9:00 AM.
