DALLAS, Texas – After already earning Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week and Quincy University Toyota Star of the Week honors,
Isaiah Fudge has added another accolade to his resume, being named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Midwest Region Hitter of the Week following an unbelievable four-game series against Roosevelt.
Fudge powered Quincy's explosive offense during the four-game sweep of Roosevelt, as the Hawks plated 74 total runs. He batted .625 (10-for-16) with four walks for a .667 on-base percentage and slugged .938, ripping two doubles and one home run. Fudge drove in 12 runs, scored 11 times, and added a stolen base.
His weekend was highlighted by a dominant 5-for-6 performance in the series opener, where he recorded a double, five runs scored, and five RBIs.
On the season, Fudge has started all 12 games and is hitting .396 with four doubles, one home run, and 17 RBIs. He has drawn 12 walks against just 10 strikeouts, collected hits in 10 of 12 games, and enters the weekend riding a five-game hitting streak.
Fudge and the Hawks return to action Friday for a four-game series against Davenport University, a program that opened the Division II preseason top 25. Quincy will host doubleheaders Friday and Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 PM both days as the Hawks look to keep their offense rolling.
