No.INDIANOLA, Iowa – Quincy University women's wrestling delivered a historic performance at the NCAA Region V Championship, finishing third out of 15 teams with 120 points and qualifying four student-athletes for the first-ever NCAA Women's Wrestling National Championship.
Leading the charge was No. 3
Xochitl Mota-Pettis (124), who captured the regional title with a dominant 3-0 performance. In the championship bout, Mota-Pettis secured an 11-0 technical fall over No. 8 Cali Leng of Iowa to claim first place and national qualification.

Trinity Pendergrass finished as regional runner-up and earned a national berth with a 3-1 showing. She advanced to the finals after defeating No. 8 Alexis Winecke (Wisconsin-Stevens Point) by a 14-8 decision in the semifinals.
Maddy Barton (131) also secured a second-place finish and national qualification, posting a 2-1 record on the day, while
Alexandra Tchekounova (110) earned third place with a 3-1 performance to punch her ticket to nationals.
Just shy of qualifying were
Madisynn Crawford (180) and
Sereena Baca (117), who each placed fourth and finished one win short of advancing. Crawford went 3-2, while Baca also finished 3-2 and fell in a tightly contested 3-2 decision in the third-place match.
Trinity White (207) placed fifth (2-2),
Siobhan Rogers (145) finished sixth (2-3), and
Lillian Baynes (160) posted a 2-2 record.
Julia Chambers (138) competed hard in her matches.
Mota-Pettis, Pendergrass, Barton, and Tchekounova will represent the Hawks at the first-ever NCAA Women's Wrestling National Championship, set for March 6–7 in Coralville, Iowa.
