Springfield, Ill. – The Quincy University women's cross country team opened the 2025 season in record-breaking fashion at the Illinois National Guard UIS Invitational, finishing 4th out of 10 teams while placing four runners inside the program's all-time top 10 performance list.
Junior
Katie Park led the way with a standout run, clocking 19:10.98 to place 11th overall. Her time marked both a personal best and a program record for the Hawks.
Freshman
Alexis Fonseca made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, recording a time of 20:29.23 to place 32nd overall and enter the school's top-10 list. Fellow freshman
Emily Faletti also cracked the all-time list, finishing in 21:18.05 for 42nd place.
Junior
Bri Obermaier added another record-breaking performance, posting a time of 21:25.44, good for 44th place and a spot in the program's top 10.
Sofia Coglianese (22:27.38, 50th) and freshman
Mia Robnett (24:09.28, 71st) rounded out the Hawks' lineup with strong showings.
As a team, Quincy totaled 124 points to secure a 4th-place finish, highlighted by the combination of veteran leadership and promising debuts.
The Hawks will look to build on their historic start when they return to action at the Bradley Intercollegiate on Sept. 12 at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Illinois.
