Park Sets Program Record as Hawks Close Season at NCAA Midwest Regional

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Quincy University women's cross country team wrapped up its 2025 campaign on Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional, hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Hawks placed 25th out of 27 qualifying teams, and the day was highlighted by a record-setting performance from junior Katie Park.

Park delivered the best race of her collegiate career, running 23:17.2 to finish 98th overall. The performance breaks her own Quincy University women's 6K record, previously set at 23:20.9, solidifying her place at the top of the program leaderboard and marking another major milestone in her standout junior season.

Alexis Fonseca continued her standout debut season at QU, finishing in 24:02.8, while fellow freshman Emily Faletti crossed in 24:45.0, closing out her first collegiate season with another strong effort. Bri Obermaier ran her way into the program's all-time performance list as well, clocking 25:56.6, which now ranks 10th in QU history for the 6K distance.

Junior Sofia Coglianese and freshman Mia Robnett rounded out the Hawks' lineup, finishing in 27:24.6 and 30:48.8, respectively.

This meet concludes what was truly a breakthrough season for the Quincy University women's cross country program. The Hawks made significant strides this fall, highlighted by Katie Park's new program record in the 6K and multiple athletes posting personal bests and all-time top-10 marks. A talented freshman group that made an immediate impact and has already positioned itself as a cornerstone for the program's future.

The team also recorded the highest GLVC Championship finish in school history, signaling meaningful competitive growth and increasing presence within one of the strongest conferences in the Midwest Region.  The progress made this season sets a clear foundation for continued improvement and elevates expectations for what the Hawks can accomplish moving forward.
