ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Quincy University women's cross country team closed out its fall season with an inspiring performance at the GLVC Championship, placing 9th overall for the highest team finish in program history. The Hawks showcased a strong mix of leadership and emerging talent, signaling a bright future for the program moving forward.
Junior
Katie Park once again set the tone for Quincy, leading the team across the finish line with a time of 23:36.36, good for 37th place overall. Park's consistency and composure have made her a steady presence in the lineup, and her effort provided the Hawks with a strong start to the scoring pack.
Alexis Fonseca continued her fantastic season by finishing 52nd with a time of 23:55.30, improving upon her previous personal best and solidifying her spot as third all-time in program history for the 6K distance.
Freshman
Emily Faletti was not far behind, clocking a 24:37.02 to take 68th place. Her time now ranks fourth all-time in Quincy history for the 6K, marking an impressive conclusion to her debut season.
Bri Obermaier followed with a solid showing, crossing the line in 26:55.43, while teammate
Sofia Coglianese finished close behind at 27:20.11. Both runners provided important depth and experience for the Hawks, helping maintain team positioning in a competitive field. Freshman
Mia Robnett rounded out the Quincy lineup, recording a 34:46.27 to gain valuable collegiate championship experience in her first season.
The Hawks' performance at the GLVC Championship not only delivered the highest finish in program history but also set a foundation for continued progress. With two runners now ranked among the top four all-time in the 6K, Quincy has positioned itself for future growth and record-breaking results in the years ahead.
Up Next: Quincy will look to carry its momentum into the postseason when the Hawks travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin, for the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, November 8. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Wayne Dannehl Cross Country Course.
