MADISON, Ill. — Quincy men's golf opened its 2025–26 season at the Arch Cup, hosted Sept. 3 at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois. The event featured 10 teams, including GLVC foes Lewis, Maryville (Mo.), William Jewell, Drury, Illinois Springfield, and host Missouri–St. Louis. Missouri Baptist rounded out the field as the lone non-GLVC participant. The course played as a par-71, 6,785-yard layout with an average score of 76.14.

Quincy's A squad started strong with an opening-round 294 (+10), before closing with a +16 for a two-day total of 594 (+26) and a 6th-place finish in the 10-team field. The B squad finished +33 on the first day and +30 on the second day, finishing 9th overall, carding rounds of 317 and 314 for a total of 631 (+63). Across both groups, the Hawks combined for 16 birdies and 61 pars, highlighted by a 68 from senior Jack Driscoll in the first round.

Driscoll led the way for Quincy and provided a strong two-day performance, opening with a 68 (32–36) to sit near the top of the leaderboard after Day 1, then following it with a 77 (39–38). Driscoll barely missed the top 10, finishing 11th with a total of 145 strokes (+3).

David Gartrell posted a first round of 75 (38-37) and a second round of 72 (37-35) for a total of 147 (+5). Colby Robertson carded a 76-75 - 151 (+9). Robertson was not the only Hawk to shoot a 151, as Griffin Taylor also managed to post the same 2-day score. Griffin posted a 75-76 for a 151 (+9), placing both of them in 29th. Glen Sutton finished the Arch Cup in 43rd place, recording a 77 on the first round and being consistent over the two days, shooting a 78 in the second round.  

Quincy A was not the only team represented in the Arch Cup. Quincy B team consisted of Blake Arnold, Michael Martelli, Konnor Craven, Sam Cory, and Matthew Boudreau.
 

The Hawks will return to the course at the UIndy Fall Invitational on Monday, Sept. 22, at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis, Indiana.
