Fast-Break Firepower Leads Hawks to Convincing 83–51 Win

QUINCY, Ill. - The Hawks controlled the afternoon from start to finish inside Pepsi Arena, rolling past Hannibal-LaGrange University with a dominant 83-56 victory. Max Booher led the way with a team-high 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers to pace the Hawks' offense, as QU moved to 2-1 on the season.

Quincy's balanced attack kept coming. A jumper from Preston Brewer pushed the margin further, and back-to-back buckets from Owen Duff, a jumper and a three-pointer, helped the Hawks maintain full control with 11 minutes left.

A defensive spark from Lorenzo McMillion, who came up with a key steal, helped Quincy continue to push the pace entering the final stretch of the half.

Bolton added another steal and turned it into a layup minutes later, and Wallingford provided an energy surge with a dunk and a jumper. Quincy took a strong 38–23 lead into the halftime break.

Quincy came out of the locker room firing. Booher buried two quick threes, and Stynes added another from deep as the Hawks extended their advantage and never looked back.

The Hawks maintained full control in the second half, pushing the pace and stretching the lead to 45–24 within the first four minutes. Quincy continued to roll with a jumper from Stynes and a layup by Kincaid as the momentum stayed firmly on their side.

There was no pressure for the Hawks down the stretch, leading 75–44 with four minutes remaining. In the final minutes, Nelson Johnson Jr. came up with a steal that set up a layup for Trace Combs, extending the margin to 79–46 with two minutes to go. McMillion closed out the night with a final layup, sealing Quincy's dominant performance.

With disciplined defense and efficient offensive execution, Quincy closed out the game comfortably, securing a convincing 83-51 victory.

Quincy saw strong contributions across the roster. Booher led the Hawks with 16 points, hitting four of his seven attempts from beyond the arc. Stynes delivered an ultra-efficient performance, scoring 13 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting day. Wallingford added 11 points while going 5-for-6 from the field, helping anchor Quincy's balanced offensive attack.

The Hawks as a unit were fantastic all-around, shooting a blistering 55.6% from the field and 40.9% from three, including a 61% second half that blew the game open. The Hawks dominated the transition game with 29 fast-break points, fueled by 18 forced turnovers that turned into 22 points off giveaways.

QU controlled the glass with a 36–31 rebounding edge, turning 12 offensive boards into 14 second-chance points, while holding HLG to just 10 points in the paint. The Hawks' ball movement was sharp all night as they racked up 24 assists on 35 made shots, showcasing how well the offense flowed.

The Hawks hit the road for a matchup against Missouri Western State University on Saturday, November 22, at 1:00 PM at the MWSU Fieldhouse in St. Joseph, Missouri.
