Biography

2025-26 (Junior): Wallingford made an immediate impact in his first season with the Hawks, appearing in and starting all 28 games. He averaged 7.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and a team-leading 1.3 blocks across 28.0 minutes per game. His 35 total blocks and 1.3 blocks per game both ranked second in the GLVC.

Wallingford shot a team-best 52.7 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three-point range, and 62.3 percent from the free throw line. He made his Quincy debut against Cedarville (11/14/25), finishing with seven points and four rebounds. Wallingford scored in double figures seven times, grabbed double-digit rebounds four times, and recorded three games with three blocks. His top performance came against Missouri-St. Louis (2/14/26), when he scored a season-high 21 points and grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds.

2024-25 (Sophomore at JWCC): Wallingford appeared in 26 games with 25 starts during his sophomore season at John Wood Community College. He averaged 13.7 points and a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game, leading the Blazers on the glass for the second straight season. He also led the team with 1.7 blocks per contest and shot an efficient 52.6 percent from the field.

Wallingford scored in double figures 19 times, including a season-high 25 points against Danville Area Community College (2/1/25). He recorded 16 games with 10 or more rebounds, including seven games with at least five offensive boards, and pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds in a win over Wayne County Community College (12/1/24). He finished the season with 14 double-doubles and had eight games with at least three blocks, highlighted by five-block performances against Rend Lake College (11/20/24) and Illinois Central College (3/4/25).

2023-24 (Freshman at JWCC): Wallingford appeared in 29 games with 28 starts during his first season at John Wood Community College. He averaged 9.3 points per game while leading the Blazers with 7.0 rebounds per contest.

Wallingford scored in double figures 12 times, including a season-high 20 points in a win over McHenry County College (12/30/23). He also reached double-digit rebounds seven times and pulled down a season-high 11 boards on four occasions. His first career double-double came against Lincoln Land Community College (2/21/24), where he finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Personal: Jakeb Wallingford is a native of Maywood, Missouri, and a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. He spent two seasons at John Wood Community College before joining Quincy University.

Wallingford is the son of Jason and Linda Wallingford and has strong family ties to QU. His brother, Jase Wallingford, is a QU graduate and former baseball player, while his cousin, Lance Logsdon, is also a 2023 QU baseball alum.

During his high school career, Wallingford helped lead QND to conference and regional championships while earning All-Conference, All-Region, All-Area, and All-State honors. He was also part of 2A sectional and regional championship teams and graduated with high honors.

Outside of basketball, Wallingford enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing. His favorite athlete is Kevin Durant, and he is a fan of the Detroit Pistons.
