Biography

2024-25 (Sophomore at JWCC): As a sophomore, Wallingford appeared in 26 games and made 25 starts, averaging 13.7 points and a team-high 9.1 rebounds for the second consecutive season. He also led the team with 1.7 blocks and shot an efficient .526 percent from the field (133-253). Jakeb had 19 games scoring in double-figures, which included a season-high 25 points against Danville Area Community College (2/1/25). He also had 16 games with 10 or more rebounds, including seven games with five or more offensive rebounds. He had a season-high 16 rebounds in a victory over Wayne County Community College (12/1/24).

2023-24 (Freshman at JWCC): In his first season with the Blazers, Jakeb appeared in 29 games and made 28 starts, where he averaged 9.3 points and a team-best 7.0 rebounds. He scored in double-figures 12 times, which included a season-high 20 points in a win over McHenry County College (12/30/23). He found himself with double-digit rebounds seven different times, recording a season-high 11 rebounds four different times.

Personal: Jakeb Wallingford, a native of Maywood, Missouri, is a Quincy Notre Dame High School graduate and former Raider standout. He spent two seasons playing basketball at John Wood Community College before joining Quincy University. The son of Jason and Linda Wallingford, and brother to fellow QU graduate and former baseball player Jase Wallingford, Jakeb also has family ties to QU through his cousin Lance Logsdon, a 2023 baseball alum. During his high school career, Jakeb helped lead his team to conference and regional championships, earning All-Conference, All-Region, All-Area, and All-State honors, as well as winning 2A sectional and regional titles. A high honors graduate, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing in his free time. Jakeb looks up to NBA star Kevin Durant and is a fan of the Detroit Pistons.
