SMITHVILLE, Mo. - Fresh off its first tournament of the season at the Drury Invitational, the QU women's golf team was back in action at the Kansas City Cup, hosted by William Jewell College at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The Hawks finished sixth out of eight teams in competition with a 318 cumulative score on day one and 334 on day two for a 652 total. 

Lily Vardaman led the Quincy squad with an 85 (+13) on day one and a ten-stroke improvement and QU low round of 75 (+3) on day two for a 160 (+16) total and T15 finish. The next Quincy finisher, Addi Eades, ended a single shot behind Varadaman at 161 (+17). Firing a 79 (+7) in day one and an 82 (+10) in day two, Eades was the Hawks second high finisher for the second consecutive tournament with her T18 finish.

An 82 (+10) along with an 80 (+8) found Natalie Dearwester just one shot behind Eades and two behind Vardaman at 162 (+18) for a T20 finish.  Dearwester finished as one of four Hawks to card a birdie along with Eades, Vardaman, who had two, and Warren. 

Elissa Warren finished at 171 (+27) on an 88 (+16) and an 83 (+11) for a T33 finish. Laci Novosel fired a 95 (+23) and an 81 (+9) to finish in sole possession of 43rd with a 176 (+32) final tally. Payton Miller concluded QU's showing for the tournament, shooting 101 in round one and 91 in round two for a 192 final score. 

QU have next week off before heading to Lemont IL, for Cog Hill Golf and Country Club and the Flyer Intercollegiate Invite, hosted by Lewis University. Round one of the two-round tournament is slated for 9:30 AM on Monday morning (Oct. 2).
