Terre Haute, Ind. – The Quincy University track and field program traveled to Indiana Saturday (Apr. 29) and competed at Indiana State's Sycamore Open.
The Hawks fought through tough weather and a lightning delay in their final meet before the GLVC Conference Championship. Briana Obermaier ran her fastest time ever, finishing the 1500-meter run in 6:25.06.
The men's team was illustrious in Terre Haute.
Nikoby Johnson finished the 200-meter dash in 23.31 seconds, finishing in 5
th place.
Austin Haskins rounded out the track portion of the Hawks' with a 19:12.75 finish in the 5000-meter run.
Jaret Boehm finished second for the Hawks in the discus throw (45.19 meters), tossed a 14.58-meter shot put, and finished the day with a top-ten finish in hammer throw (39.55 meters).
The Hawks look to continue their success this Thursday (May 4) at the GLVC Track and Field Championship in Rolla, Missouri.
