School Records and New GLVC Leaders at the ONU Invite

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The track and field teams continued their indoor season at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational on Saturday, January 29th at the Perry Center.

The Hawks had some key performances and a school record fall at the meet.

Taryn Sargent placed 5th in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.54 meters. That placed 5th in the meet, but also broke the school record. The other top performer for the Hawks on the women's side was Faith Haggard in the 60 meter hurdles with a lifetime best of 9.50 seconds to place 2nd at the meet.

Thiea Shea ran in the 200 and 400 meter races. He placed 5th in the 200 with a time of 22.84 seconds and 6th in the 400 meter with a time of 53.20.

Paden Lewis became the GLVC leader in the shot put with his 1st place toss of 17.69 meters. That distance also puts him in 6th overall at the NCAA Division II level. He placed 3rd in the weight throw at 18.31 meters. Jaret Boehm also placed in the top 3 in the shot put with a lifetime best of 14.61 meters. He was top 10 in the weight throw at 13.46 meters.

The Hawks will return to the track on Saturday, February 4th at the Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College.
