DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Hawks Track and Field teams traveled to the Moco Mercer Open hosted by the University of Dubuque on Saturday, January 22
nd. The women's team placed 4
th out of 5 teams, while the men placed in 5
th out of 5 teams.
The men were led by
Paden Lewis who took home the top spot in both the Weight Throw and Shot Put with throws of 18.18 meters and 16.70 meters.
Jaret Boehm also took home top 10 spots in both of the throwing competitions. Boehm placed 5
th in the Shot Put with a throw of 14.39 meters. He took the 10
th spot in the Weight Throw 14.50 meters.
Faith Haggard paced the women as she took home the fastest time in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.62 seconds. She also placed 8
th in the High Jump at 1.48 meters.
Finley Petty ran her lifetime best and broke a school record in the 1,000 meters. She completed the race in 3:39.75, which placed 3
rd.
Briana Obermaier took home a top 3 spot in the 3,000 meter race with a time of 14:28.28.
The Hawks also had an unofficial school record in the Mixed Gender 4x400. The team consisted of
David Gamble, DeAndre Cornwall,
Faith Haggard, and
Nikoby Johnson with a time of 4:11.3.
