Box Score Grand Rapids, MI - The Quincy University men's lacrosse team returned to action with a road contest against Davenport University on Saturday (Mar. 13). The Hawks battled hard scoring six goals in the second half, but it was not enough as the Hawks fell 11-6.
The Hawks fell behind in the first half after allowing six goals on 13 shots. Quincy shot 11 times but were held scoreless. Sam Huff saved seven of Davenport's shots on goal to avoid the Panthers from stretching their lead any further.
Quincy made a big turn in the second half as they went on a four-goal run to cut the difference to 8-4. The Hawks outscored the Panthers in the third quarter, 4-3, but Davenport added a goal near the end of the third to take a 9-4 lead into the fourth.Â
The fourth quarter started hot for the Hawks as Jordan Ernst shot a rocket into the net that was assisted by Gage Evans. The Panthers responded with a goal, but that did not stop Quincy as Kyle Srichantra scored an unassisted goal to make the score 10-6. QU was unable to complete the comeback as the Panthers walked away with a 11-6 win.
