INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Quincy University track & field teams competed at the GLVC Indoor Championships in Indianapolis over the weekend (Feb. 29-Mar.1). The men's team finished in 11th place and the women came in 14th. The Hawks posted seven top-10 finishes, but the biggest one came in the men's 200 meters.
Jemini Archer became the first-ever GLVC Champion in QU history with a first-place finish in the 200 meters. The freshman from Barrie, ON, Canada recorded a season-best time of 22.18 seconds to take home the gold for the Hawks.
Sophomore
Jaired Fyffe was the next-highest finisher on the men's side. Fyffe earned a medal in the long jump competition when he leaped 6.97 meters to a third-place finish.
The women's team also etched their names in the record books by being the first women's track & field team in school history to score and place in a conference championship.
