Track Teams Compete at Jim Green Invite

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's and men's track & field teams competed in the Jim Green Invite, hosted by Illinois College in Jacksonville on Saturday (Feb. 6).

The QU women finished in a tie for 22^nd while the men's team did not receive a team score.

Freshman Kellyn Lamore posted Quincy's top showing of the day, finishing seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.29. That finish gave the Lady Hawks two points in the team standings.

Elsewhere on the women's side, senior Brittney Klosak finished the 800-meter run in 2:46.51. Freshman Ashley Doellman clocked in at 2:59.71 in the same race.

Junior Elizabeth Leden led the Lady Hawks in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:34.28. Klosak and Doellman also laced up for that race. Leden was also ran the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:05.05.

In the shot put, sophomore Marie Rush posted the top heave for Quincy with a distance of 7.60 meters. Freshman Mattie Hoiness threw for a distance of 5.89 meters.

On the men's side, junior Robbie Overstreet tossed the shot put at a distance of 10.01 meters. Senior Sam Rohr posted a 9.68-meter heave.

In the track portion of the meet, junior Derek Armstrong led the Hawks in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.23. Sophomore Connor Gibbons just missed a sub-one-minute run, crossing the line in 1:00.52.

In the 200-meter dash, freshman Chris Parker was Quincy's fastest finisher with a time of 24.97 seconds. Freshman Lincoln McGrath was not far behind at 26.74 ticks.

Senior Michael Crotteau posted a solid time in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:09.45.

The Hawks have one final indoor meet before the GLVC Championships Feb. 27-28 in Kenosha, Wis. They compete at the Mizzou Challenge in Columbia, Mo. on Feb. 19.
