Katie Park Named Final QU Toyota Star of the Week After Historic GLVC Championship Performance

QUINCY, Ill. – After a record-breaking and historic weekend at the GLVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Katie Park has been named the final QU Toyota Star of the Week for the 2025–26 athletic season.

Competing in Bolivar, Missouri, Park delivered a performance that will be remembered as one of the most significant in program history.

On Thursday night, Park opened the championship in the 1500-meter preliminaries, turning in a then-school record time of 4:36.60. Her effort placed her second overall, finishing less than a second behind the leader, and secured her spot in Saturday's final.

When the championship race arrived, Park elevated her performance to another level.

In Saturday's 1500-meter final, Park surged ahead of the field and never looked back, pulling away down the stretch to win the event by nearly three seconds. She crossed the line in 4:34.70, breaking her own school record set just two days prior.

With the victory, Park became the first women's track and field athlete in Quincy University history to win a GLVC Outdoor Championship event, marking a milestone moment for the program.

Her dominant showing not only etched her name into the record books but also capped off the 2025–26 season in historic fashion for Quincy track and field.
