QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's basketball program enters its second season under head coach Ali Schwagmeyer-Belger with a deep 18-player roster featuring 11 returners and seven newcomers for the 2026-27 campaign.

Schwagmeyer-Belger is joined for a second season by assistant coach Courtney Belger and graduate assistant Maya Wong.

The Hawks are coming off a 15-13 campaign in Schwagmeyer-Belger's first season at the helm, including a 12-8 mark in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. Quincy earned the No. 7 seed in the GLVC Tournament and pushed second-seeded Maryville to overtime in the quarterfinals before falling 87-81.

Quincy's 2026-27 roster features five freshmen, nine sophomores, one junior, two seniors and one graduate student. The Hawks return 11 players from last year's roster while adding a pair of experienced transfers and five freshmen.

Returning Core

Senior guards Katey Flynn and Blair Eftink headline a returning group that brings back several of Quincy's top contributors from last season.

Flynn started all 28 games in her first season with the Hawks and led Quincy in minutes, scoring and assists. She averaged 11.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 39.6 percent from three-point range and 80.8 percent from the free throw line. Her 33.4 minutes and 3.0 assists per game both ranked eighth in the GLVC, while her 1.35 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked sixth.

Flynn reached double figures 18 times and led the Hawks in scoring nine times and assists 14 times.

Eftink also started nearly every game during her first season at Quincy, appearing in all 28 contests with 27 starts. She averaged 8.0 points per game and provided one of the Hawks' biggest perimeter threats, knocking down a team-high 48 three-pointers while shooting 37.2 percent from beyond the arc.

A large sophomore class gives Quincy another year of experience after several players were immediately thrown into significant roles as freshmen.

Point guard Karly Peters started 25 of 28 games during her first collegiate season and averaged 8.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a team-leading 1.5 steals across 31.1 minutes per game. Peters scored in double figures 12 times and led Quincy in assists and steals 13 times apiece.

Hayven Harden became one of Quincy's biggest interior threats after missing the beginning of her freshman season due to injury. Harden appeared in 24 games and averaged 10.8 points while playing just 19.9 minutes per contest.

The 6-foot interior presence shot 67.4 percent from the field, going 118-for-175 and setting a new Quincy single-season field goal percentage record. Harden also led the Hawks with 1.0 blocks per game, ranking eighth in the GLVC, and earned a spot on the GLVC All-Freshman Team.

Reagan Reed supplied versatility on both ends of the floor, appearing in all 28 games with 10 starts. She averaged 5.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while adding 1.2 assists and 0.9 steals.

Maddie Casey also gained valuable experience during her freshman season, appearing in 25 games off the bench and averaging 11.5 minutes per contest.

Quincy also returns sophomores Liv Vaughan, Brynlee Clarke, Kamora Davis, Sydney Compton and Tonijah Bush, giving the Hawks nine second-year players on the roster.

Experienced Additions

The Hawks added two experienced transfers in junior guard Stacie Vonderheide and graduate student Halie Gilbert.

Vonderheide comes to Quincy after two standout seasons at Parkland Community College.

As a sophomore, Vonderheide started all 31 games and averaged 14.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She shot 60.4 percent from the floor, 41.5 percent from three-point range and 82.4 percent from the free throw line.

Vonderheide scored in double figures 22 times, including nine performances of at least 20 points, and recorded seven double-doubles. She earned NJCAA All-American honors while being named the MWACC Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference and Parkland Female Athlete of the Year.

Her sophomore campaign followed a freshman season in which she averaged 13.7 points and 9.1 rebounds while recording nine double-doubles. Vonderheide's freshman year included a 42-point performance against Rock Valley College in which she shot 16-for-20 from the field.

Gilbert gives the Hawks an experienced post presence with four seasons in the GLVC at Indianapolis following the start of her collegiate career at Illinois Central College.

Gilbert appeared in 27 games with six starts for Indianapolis last season, averaging 4.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16.3 minutes per game while shooting 49.0 percent from the field.

She appeared in 28 games with 15 starts during the 2024-25 season, averaging 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 51.2 percent from the floor. Gilbert was named GLVC Player of the Week during that campaign.

Before arriving at Indianapolis, Gilbert started all 31 games as a freshman at Illinois Central and averaged 9.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 blocks per game.

Five Join Freshman Class

Quincy also welcomes a five-player freshman class featuring Kensington Rosenow, Ari Buehler, Jenna Durst, Dalia DeJesus and Hailey Kipp.

Rosenow joins the Hawks as a point guard from Mishicot High School in Wisconsin. She earned All-State recognition in 2026 and was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection in 2025 and 2026.

The Hawks add a pair of local products from Quincy Notre Dame in Buehler and Durst.

Buehler, a point guard, was a three-time West Central First Team All-Conference selection during her high school career. She helped the Raiders earn a third-place finish at the Class 2A state tournament and a fourth-place finish in Class 3A.

Durst joins the Hawks as a small forward after also helping Quincy Notre Dame to those two state tournament finishes. She surpassed 1,000 career points during her high school career.

DeJesus comes to Quincy from Dee-Mack High School in Mackinaw, Illinois. The forward helped Dee-Mack capture the 2026 Class 1A State Championship and also produced a 50-point game during her high school career.

Kipp rounds out the freshman class after a decorated career at Dunkerton High School in Iowa. The power forward earned First Team All-Conference honors in the Iowa Star Conference along with selections to the IGCA Class 1A All-Star Select Team and IGCA All-District Team.

She was also named Third Team All-State by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association and earned KWAY All-Area First Team recognition. Kipp helped Dunkerton win an Iowa Star Conference Championship and reach the state tournament in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.

With four returning players who started at least 10 games last season, a large sophomore class that gained valuable experience as freshmen and two transfers bringing extensive collegiate experience, Quincy enters year two under Schwagmeyer-Belger with a mix of continuity and new talent across the roster.
