Maya Wong enters her second season as a graduate assistant with the Quincy University women's basketball program in 2026-27.
Wong joined the Hawks following a decorated six-year playing career at Illinois State University, where she competed as a point guard from 2019-25 and established herself among the program's career leaders in several categories.
Wong graduated as Illinois State's all-time leader with 159 career games played and 135 career starts. She also finished fourth in program history with 550 assists, seventh with 164 made 3-pointers and 13th with 1,392 career points. During her career, Wong was one of six Redbirds to break the program's single-season record for games played and one of two to break the single-season record for starts.
Wong was also part of one of the most successful stretches in Illinois State women's basketball history. She helped the Redbirds capture their first Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship in 14 years and their first MVC regular season title since 2010. Wong was also a member of the first Illinois State team to make three consecutive postseason appearances.
A native of Bloomington, Illinois, Wong earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Illinois State in 2023 before completing her master's degree in sport psychology in 2025.
