INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its men's golf preseason coaches poll Tuesday, with Quincy selected to finish 10th among the league's 13 teams after totaling 52 points.
Missouri–St. Louis earned the top spot with 136 points and four first-place votes, narrowly edging Missouri S&T, which tallied 134 points and a poll-best nine first-place votes. Drury, Indianapolis, and Rockhurst rounded out the top five.
The Hawks begin the spring campaign under first-year head coach
Alex McCulla following a promising fall season that featured the program's first tournament title since 2010 at the Bearcat Dual Gender.
Griffin Taylor paced Quincy in the fall, earning a top-10 finish at the Flyers Fall Intercollegiate before claiming medalist honors with a first-place finish at the Bearcat Dual Gender. Veteran returners
Glenn Sutton and
Jack Driscoll also provide valuable experience, while a strong transfer class looks to further elevate the program's depth and competitiveness.
Quincy will open its spring schedule in March as the Hawks aim to continue building momentum heading into the conference championship.
