KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team dropped its second straight GLVC road match Saturday evening, falling to Truman State University in four sets, 21-25, 14-25, 25-23, 20-25, inside Pershing Arena. The loss moves the Hawks to 17-10 overall and 4-7 in GLVC play.

The opening set remained tight through the early going, with Quincy eventually working its way ahead 10-6 behind a strong start from Selin Turgut. The Hawks maintained an advantage into the middle stages and held a 14-12 lead before Truman flipped the momentum with five consecutive points to move ahead 17-14. Quincy continued to battle and stayed within striking distance down the stretch, but the Bulldogs held off the comeback to take the opener 25-21. Both teams totaled 15 kills in the frame, but Truman was more efficient, hitting .361 with just two errors compared to Quincy's .297 with four errors.

The second set swung heavily in favor of Truman after Quincy opened with an early advantage. The Hawks led 3-1 before the Bulldogs rattled off seven consecutive points to take control at 8-3. Quincy briefly stopped the run and attempted to work its way back into the frame, but Truman continued to string together points and steadily expanded its advantage. The Hawks never found the offensive rhythm needed to respond, dropping the set 25-14. Quincy finished with seven kills and seven errors for a .000 hitting percentage, while Truman hit .323 with 15 kills and five errors.

Facing a two-set deficit, the Hawks showed some fight in the third. Truman again grabbed the early advantage, but Quincy slowly chipped away and turned the frame into a back-and-forth battle. Neither side could create much separation late, with the set featuring seven ties before the Hawks finally found the closing push. Quincy broke through in the final points to earn a 25-23 victory and force a fourth set. The Hawks delivered their best offensive production of the night with 18 kills on .245 hitting, while holding Truman to .214 with 15 kills.

Truman regained control in the fourth behind another costly run. The set remained close early before the Bulldogs used their service pressure and Quincy errors to build separation. The Hawks continued to fight and cut into the deficit late, but Truman maintained enough distance to close out the match with a 25-20 victory. Quincy hit .135 with 10 kills and five errors in the final frame, while Truman totaled 17 kills and hit .234.

Truman held the advantage offensively for the match, totaling 62 kills and hitting .271 compared to 50 kills and a .179 hitting percentage for Quincy. The Bulldogs also caused problems from the service line, recording 10 aces while Quincy finished with four. The defensive numbers were nearly even, with Truman holding just an 83-82 advantage in digs, but the Bulldogs also finished with eight total blocks compared to six for the Hawks.
