Personal: Kocaalp is from Istanbul, Turkey, and attended TED Rönesans College High School. She is the daughter of Melda Yucel and Cengiz Kocaalp and has one sibling, Aslan Efe Kocaalp. Kocaalp helped her school volleyball team win back-to-back championships and served as team captain.

Kocaalp also competed for Galatasaray, helping her team finish third in Turkey at the 2023 Turkish Super League Nationals. She also earned MVP honors while representing TED Rönesans.

Away from the court, Kocaalp enjoys listening to music, watching soccer, drawing, cooking, especially desserts, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite athletes are Gabi Guimarães, Melissa Vargas, Ilkin Aydin, and Tijana Boskovic, and her favorite sports team is Galatasaray.
