McKendree enters the season as the defending GLVC champion after also finishing third at the NCAA Division II National Championships last season. The Bearcats return 184-pound national champion and All-American Darion Johnson along with 165-pound All-American Sam Richardson.
Quincy enters its fifth season as a program and fifth under head coach Jimmy Eggemeyer after continuing to make strides during the 2025-26 campaign.
The Hawks finished last season with a 10-9 dual record and went 1-4 in GLVC competition. Quincy placed fifth at the GLVC Championship, falling to Indianapolis 41-6 before closing the event with a 30-17 victory over Drury.
QU carried that momentum into the NCAA Super Region IV Championships, finishing sixth out of 11 teams. The Hawks sent one wrestler to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Sabian Russell, who returns for his senior season in 2026-27.
Russell will headline a Quincy roster looking to continue the program's growth as the Hawks enter another season of competition in a challenging GLVC wrestling field.
Quincy will officially open the 2026-27 season on Sunday, November 1, at the Luther Hill Open in Indianola, Iowa.
