QUINCY, Ill. – Quincy University women's soccer senior forward Rebecca Rheinheimer has been named the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA) Women's Soccer National Player of the Week following a dominant offensive showing during the week of October 12-18.
The Wright City, Missouri native becomes the first Quincy women's soccer player to receive the national distinction since the award was introduced in 2025 and just the second player from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) to earn the honor.
The national recognition comes just one day after Rheinheimer was named the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in her career, adding another accolade to an outstanding senior campaign.
Rheinheimer helped lead the Hawks to a perfect 2-0 week, securing dominant conference victories over Upper Iowa (7-0) and Lincoln (6-0). The two wins helped Quincy clinch a spot in the GLVC Tournament for the second consecutive season with one regular-season match remaining.
The senior opened the week with a two-goal performance against Upper Iowa on Wednesday, October 14. Rheinheimer found the back of the net twice in 82 minutes of action, helping power the Hawks to a commanding seven-goal victory in their final regular-season home match.
Rheinheimer followed that performance with an even more impressive showing against Lincoln on Sunday, October 18, recording a first-half hat trick in less than 20 minutes. Despite playing just 61 minutes, the senior delivered three goals to lead Quincy to a 6-0 shutout victory.
The performance marked Rheinheimer's second hat trick of the season and her third consecutive multi-goal game, continuing a remarkable offensive stretch that has seen her score eight goals over her last three matches.
Across the two contests, Rheinheimer totaled five goals on 17 shots, putting 11 on target while logging just 143 minutes. Her five-goal week accounted for nearly 40 percent of Quincy's 13 goals across the two victories and brought her career total to 25 goals in a Hawks uniform.
Rheinheimer has established herself as one of the GLVC's most dangerous offensive players this season. Through 16 matches, she has recorded 15 goals and two assists for 32 points, ranking second in the conference in both goals and total points while averaging 2.00 points per game.
The D2CIDA National Player of the Week award is selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors from nominations submitted by conference offices, recognizing standout performances from student-athletes across the country.
Rheinheimer and the Hawks will look to carry their offensive momentum into their regular-season finale on Wednesday, October 21, when they travel to Kirksville, Missouri, to face Truman State University at 5:00 PM. With a GLVC Tournament berth already secured, Quincy will look to strengthen its position in the conference standings and secure a top-four seed, which would allow the Hawks to host a GLVC Tournament quarterfinal match at Legends Stadium.
