QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's basketball program has announced its 2025-26 schedule, featuring 28 regular-season contests with an even split of 14 games at Pepsi Arena and 14 on the road. The slate includes eight non-conference matchups before the Hawks dive into 20 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contests.
Head coach
Brad Hoyt, entering his second season at the helm, and the Hawks will open the season by hosting the G-MAC/GLVC Crossover inside Pepsi Arena. QU will face Findlay on Nov. 14 and Cedarville on Nov. 15, continuing a series of early-season matchups with both programs that dates back to 2018.
The non-conference slate continues at home on Nov. 19 against Hannibal-LaGrange, a series Quincy has dominated for more than a decade, including last year's 75-61 win that gave Hoyt his first victory at QU. The Hawks then travel to Missouri Western State (Nov. 22) and Pittsburg State (Nov. 24), marking their first meetings with MIAA opponents since 2018 and 2022, respectively.
GLVC play tips off with a three-game homestand: Upper Iowa on Dec. 1, Missouri S&T on Dec. 4, and Drury on Dec. 6. Mid-December brings more non-conference action, including a road trip to Missouri Southern State (Dec. 12), a rematch of last season's 71-68 QU victory, before hosting the Hansen Spear Classic (Dec. 16-17) with games against Hillsdale and Roosevelt.
The Hawks then ring in the new year with a tough two-game road stretch at UMSL on Jan. 2 and Lincoln on Jan. 4, both NCAA Tournament qualifiers last season. Quincy returns to Pepsi Arena for games against Illinois Springfield on Jan. 8 and Indianapolis on Jan. 10 before traveling to Upper Iowa on Jan. 15. A short trip to Truman State on Jan. 22 follows, before the Hawks close the month at home against Rockhurst on Jan. 29 and Southwest Baptist on Jan. 31.
February opens with road games at Drury on Feb. 5 and Missouri S&T on Feb. 7, followed by home matchups against Lincoln on Feb. 12 and UMSL on Feb. 14, then Maryville on Feb. 19 and McKendree on Feb. 21. The season concludes at home versus Lewis on Feb. 27 and on the road at UIndy on Feb. 29.
The 2025-26 slate balances early non-conference tests, GLVC rivalries, and matchups against three NCAA Tournament teams from last season, giving Quincy opportunities to build in
Brad Hoyt's second season as head coach.
